Liar, Lunatic, or Lord

John 14:6-7

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life ; no one comes to the Father but through Me. “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also ; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”

You may have heard theories that Jesus was just “a great teacher” and “an inspiring spiritual role model,” but not necessarily God incarnate.  Hogwash!

When you consider the words that he spoke (see above), there are only three logical conclusions.

  1. Liar: A person speaking these words could be lying but wouldn’t that preclude them from being a “good teacher?”
  2. Lunatic: A person speaking these words could be crazy.  Again, not the best role model.
  3. Lord: Only the Lord of the universe could make these claims without falling into the first two categories.

Was Jesus a wonderful teacher?  Yes.  Was he a great spiritual role model?  Of course.  But he wasn’t just man.  He was God incarnate.
