It is good to give thanks to the LORD And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High ; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night
No deep theological thought this morning. Just a reminder. Sing.
Sing with all your heart to the Lord. Praise his name because he is worthy. He’s worthy of more praise than we could ever sing but don’t let that stop you. God gives us this opportunity to show him thanks by using his amazing creation of music and song. So take the opportunity.
You don’t even have to be in church. We can sing out loud to him in the car or in the shower. If you don’t feel comfortable with acapella, download some praise music and sing along. You could even take just about any love song and dedicate it to the Lord (try it, you’ll find more often than not it applies).
And when you actually are in church, devote your heart to worship. Don’t let the distractions entice your mind to wander. Focus on the moment and give thanks to the one that died that you might live eternally with him.
I’ve made the point before that worship is more than just singing – it is about honoring God in all that you do. Still, I can’t emphasize enough the gift that we are given in the ability to sing God’s praises in song.
God is worthy of all our praise, so heap it on him.
