Life Is Short, Pray Hard

Psalm 90:1-4

Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. You turn man back into dust And say, “Return, O children of men.” For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or as a watch in the night.

Sometimes it seems like the days of our life are dragging on, especially if you are waiting for something.  But when you step back, you realize that this life is but a breath.  Even if you don’t believe in God, you have to at least admit that there’s a chance that there’s something that comes after death and there’s a chance that whatever that is could last forever.  Doesn’t that seem like the kind of thing that you’d want to at least look into?

Wait, I can’t leave it at that.  I can’t soft-sell this.  It is too important.

If you aren’t a believer in Christ and you remember only one thing from reading this blog, remember this. Your eternity is at stake here!  As in forever.  You have an open invitation from the Lord God almighty to enter into Heaven free of charge and free of works with no strings attached.  You also have the option to do nothing and spend eternity wishing you had accepted God’s invitation.  Your move.

Ok, with that off my chest, I already can hear some of the retorts from non-believers.  Yes, the above is predicated upon believing in the Bible and the Christian Gospel.  What if I’m wrong?  What if what I believe is not right and some other faith has it right?  I could spend all day defending my Faith and “proving” that it is the truth but at the end of the day it still comes down to that “leap of Faith.”

So my best advice is to seek God by praying earnestly and consistently to him to reveal himself to you.  Ask him to move your heart towards him and reveal his truth to you.  You might be surprised by how he answers you.  (I’ll also recommend seeking guidance and counseling from someone who’s faith you admire – but let God direct your path)

You’ve got everything to gain and nothing to lose by praying.  You’ve got everything to lose by never looking into it.  Like I said, your move.
